Board of Directors Nominations Now Open
Music NWT is now accepting self-nominations for our Board of Directors. We are seeking individuals from across the NWT music community who are passionate about supporting and growing the local music industry, and who can bring a range of lived experiences, skills, and perspectives to the table.
The Board helps guide Music NWT’s strategic direction, strengthen governance, and support the organization’s long-term impact. Board members attend regular meetings, take part in committees or working groups as needed, review materials in advance, and contribute to collaborative decision-making. Previous board experience is welcome but not required.
Nominees will be invited to briefly introduce themselves at the Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 7pm (Zoom), with up to two minutes to speak. An election will follow as part of the AGM process in accordance with our bylaws. Board terms are typically two years.
Self-nominations are open now. Please submit your nomination by June 5, 2026.
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Music NWT’s Annual General Meeting is coming up, and all members are invited to attend. This is an opportunity to hear updates on our work over the past year, learn about upcoming priorities, and take part in shaping the future of the organization.
The AGM will also include Board of Directors elections. A current Music NWT membership is required to vote or run for a board position.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 7pm (Zoom). Please register in advance using the Zoom link. Meeting materials will be shared with registered attendees ahead of time.

Regional Advisory Committee - Expression of Interest
Music NWT is looking for community members from across the Northwest Territories to join our new Regional Advisory Committee.
This committee will help strengthen connections between Music NWT and local music communities by sharing regional perspectives, identifying opportunities and challenges, and supporting outreach across the territory.
We are seeking representatives from each of the five regions of the NWT who are active in their local music scenes and interested in supporting the growth of the territory’s music sector.
Committee members will take part in quarterly virtual meetings, with occasional communication between meetings. Selected members will serve a two-year term and will receive meeting honoraria, a complimentary Music NWT membership, and access to programming and professional development opportunities.
To express interest in joining the committee, please complete the form by June 5, 2026.
